2017 Kam Kares Foundation Event May 26 and 27
Kam Chancellor strong safety for the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL gives back to his community in Norfolk, VA every year. This event is always a classy and well organized event held in downtown Norfolk. Kam raises money to equip children in Hampton Roads and Seattle areas with educational, health & wellness tools and resources to position students for greater academic success. He focusses on children from single parent homes and lower socioeconomic backgrounds.
This year the Kam Kares Foundation Gala was held at the newly built HILTON Norfolk Main on Main St. in Norfolk, Va. The Gala was on Friday (5/26/17) and consisted of Live entertainment, great catered food, awards and dancing. During this event there were awards given to local community leaders that have been making the difference with the youth in their community. Some of the awardees were:
Athlete Champion for Change Award
– Elton Brown (former NFL Player for the Cardinals)
-Antoine Bethea (Safety for the Arizona Cardinals)
Student Champion for Change Award
-Domonique Sumler (Maury High School Senior)

Then, on Saturday (5/27/17) their was a BIG Cookout held in Town Point Park and it was FREE to the public. Kam gave free food to ALL that attended. There was Live entertainment by BJ Griffin, a kids dance contest with cash rewards, carvial style games, bounce houses and autographs.

Now to end the event there was a Celebrity Basketball Game held Saturday night at the Ted Constance Center in Norfolk, VA. Another fun filled event. Shaggy from Z104 was the host and he did a great job. NBA professional referee Tony Brothers called the game. Halftime performance by DJs Amira and Kayla (11 year twin sisters) rocked the 1’s and 2’s.
