This really upsets me. I did not see anything wrong with Jacquees showing how much he loved the “Trip” track by doing a Quemix. Maybe Ella Mai thought Jaquees Quemix was better than her version. #idk All I know is people do remix covers all the time; do you make everyone take them down? However, I love the way Jacquees took this; it makes me like him even more as an artist.
Now on the other hand, Ella Mai really needs to humble herself. This is clearly a situation of overreacting; making Jaquees take down his Quemix of “Trip”. She must remember; Jaquees fans could possibly be her fans at the end of the day, and vice versa; so why create these kind of vibes and you are still a new artist. #ijs

On Tuesday (Sept. 25), Jacquees retweeted a story from SA Breaking News, a South African news outlet, that said his remix of Ella Mai’s “Trip” was removed from both SoundCloud and YouTube. While it remains unclear why the song was pulled, the “In the Club” crooner expressed his dismay with a series of teary-eyed emojis.
In a statement sent to Billboard from Jacquees’ rep, his team indicates that there’s no bad blood between the two artists.
“For the new people who are just catching up to who Jacquees is as an artist, this has become very controversial for no reason,” the statement begins. “We love Ella and are cool with her team as well. He has been releasing not only Quemix songs but entire projects with remixes of other artists’ songs ranging back to 2013. This was an act of genuine support and should not turn into negativity for either of the artist or from their supporters.” [Read more Billboard News]
