Kanye West Denies Any Involvement With ‘Blexit’ Campaign: “I Have Nothing to Do With It”

Billboard News Today

After it was reported that he had designed apparel for the “Blexit” campaign, Kanye West denied any involvement and affiliation with the political brand on Tuesday (Oct. 30).

“I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine,” he tweeted. “I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it.”

“Blexit” — which encourages African-Americans to leave the Democratic Party — debuted a line of shirts and hats at Turning Point USA’s Young Black Leadership Summit on Saturday. The description for each item reportedly read “Design by Kanye West.”

“My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative,” West concluded on Twitter.

During the event, Turning Point USA communications director Candace Owens spoke to Page Six and gushed about West’s involvement in Blexit. “Blexit is a renaissance, and I am blessed to say that this logo, these colors, were created by my dear friend and fellow superhero Kanye West,” she said.  [Read More Billboard News]
