After years of waiting, concept cars and prototypes, Toyota is finally close to revealing one of its most iconic models, the highly-anticipated fifth generation 2020 Supra A90 and I am here for it!
Exactly a month ahead of its world reveal, an image of what appears to be the front end of a production version of the fifth-generation Supra mysteriously appeared on SupraMKV forums
The image reveals a production ready Supra A90 that carries cues from the stunning 2012 Toyota FT1-concept. The concept’s pointy nose has been toned down for the road-going car, which will also give way to bigger LED headlights and a less dramatic hood without the transparent panel to show the engine. The side air intakes seem to carry over from the FT-1 and these flank a central piece lending the Supra a really aggressive look. One question does come to mind: Where would you put a front license plate for states requiring this?
As a joint collaboration with BMW, Toyota is expected to outfit the RWD flagship trim of its upcoming Supra with a 3.0-liter inline-six that pumps out 335hp with 332 pounds of torque. A more economical version of the sports car is anticipated to feature a 261 horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. For hard core Enthusiast, a more aggressive Hybrid version will appear later in the cycle.
The 2020 Toyota Supra A90 will be finally be revealed at the North American International Auto Show in January. The Toyota Supra A90 is rumored to go on sale the first quarter of 2019 as a 2020 model. Pricing and options also will be released the first quarter of 2019.
Could this be the beginning of the resurrection of Toyota’s legendary “3 Brothers”?
