Kylie Jenner has reached a milestone at the tender age of 21. The makeup and reality TV show entrepreneur is now the world’s youngest “self-made” billionaire, according to a March 5 Forbes report.
“I didn’t expect anything. I did not foresee the future,” Jenner told Forbes. “But [the recognition] feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back.”
The recent article is part of Forbes’ “The Billionaires 2019” issue, and details how Jenner — who gave birth to her and Grammy-nominated rapper Travis Scott’s baby girl, Stormi, in 2018 — made her makeup brand, Kylie Cosmetics, a multi-million dollar business.
It was after she partnered with beauty retailer Ulta that she was able to hit national markets, but the youngest Kardashian-Jenner sister also had her massive social media presence boost her brand. “It’s the power of social media. I had such a strong reach before I was able to start anything,” she said.
The article also details how the “selfie-made” billionaire runs her business with a team that’s much smaller than most might think, consisting of seven full-time and five part-time employees. And, of course, momager Kris Jenner handles the finances and PR in exchange for 10% of the profits.
“I see [Kylie Cosmetics] going very far. I work really hard,” Jenner concluded.
