A Detroit man was arrested after he stabbed both of his parents when they told him to turn his video game off. His stepfather later died from his injuries.
29-year-old Christian McKinney was arrested earlier this week for the Dec. 11 double stabbing. Authorities state the young man was playing his video game late at night and his parents told McKinney to turn the game off since they could hear the noise from their upstairs bedroom. Moments after, he assaulted his 66-year-old mother and 71-year-old stepfather then stabbed them multiple times.
“He punched mom in her face breaking her nose. [He] punched [his] stepdad several times, his stepdad went and retrieved a knife from the kitchen to defend himself and his wife. He somehow got the knife away from him and then stabbed his mother and stepdad.”
After the attack, Haines was reportedly found covered in blood in the apartment building hallway. As officers tried to arrest him, McKinney reportedly resisted arrests while spitting at the officers. Currently, he is held at the Oakland County Jail on a $510,000 bond on several charges.
