Millions Panic As Slack Breaks On First Virtual Work Day Of 2021
Parts of 2020 are creeping into 2021 as Slack, a business tool used frequently throughout the pandemic, experienced major outages on the first work-day of 2021.
“Customers may have trouble loading channels or connecting to Slack at this time. Our team is investigating and we will follow up with more information as soon as we have it. We apologize for any disruption caused.”
The outage was initially reported around 10 AM ET and has still not been fixed. While users work remotely during the pandemic, Slack has been a vital source to connect employees and their workspace.
“While the issue is largely still ongoing, we believe some customers may see improvement in connecting to Slack after a refresh.” On the status page, however, all services were still showing an outage.
Many took to social media to express their Slacktivities and how they were using alternative methods to keep up with their work.
One user even thought that he was fired until he realized that Slack was down.
