The 63rd annual Grammy Awards show is planned to happen this Sunday with a huge lineup of performers including Roddy Ricch, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and more.
One artist that fans will not see on the performance stage will be Beyoncé. Reportedly, the Black Is King singer has declined the invitation to sing.
Harvey Mason the Recording Academy Interim Chief Executive called the turned down offer unfortunate.
“It’s unfortunate because she’s such a big part of the Recording Academy. We absolutely wish we had her on stage.”
There is no clear reason as to why Beyoncé turned down the offer but she is nominated for nine Grammys this year. At the moment there is no word if she will attend the ceremony as well.
If she is not there, she won’t be the only one. The Weeknd, who was not nominated for any Grammy awards this year, announced that he will be boycotting the show and has plans to stop submitting his music to the Grammys.
The Grammys will air on Sunday, March 14.
