Woman claims DNA test shows sperm bank doctor secretly impregnated her

An OB/GYN secretly impregnated a woman with his own sperm when she sought artificial insemination in the 1980s — and she only found out when her daughter completed a DNA test through a website last year, a new lawsuit alleges.

The woman, Bianca Voss of New Jersey, said in the New York federal court suit that doctor Martin Greenberg pulled off the “medical rape” when she visited his Manhattan clinic in 1983 in the hope that she could get pregnant with sperm donated by an anonymous man.

“Defendant stood over Plaintiff with her legs spread in stirrups and inserted his own bodily fluids into her. Plaintiff would never have agreed to allow Defendant to use his own sperm to impregnate her,” the suit states.

“Defendant used his position of trust and authority to insert his own sperm into Plaintiff. He violated his oath as a physician,” it adds.

Bianca Voss and her daughter, Roberta Voss, appeared at a news conference with attorney Joe Peiffer on May 25, 2021.

At a virtual press event Tuesday afternoon, Bianca and her daughter, Roberta, said they were both devastated by the alleged crime.

Bianca said she was living on the Upper West Side in the 80s when she made the decision to have a child and settled on Dr. Greenberg to perform the insemination procedure on her.

The twisted truth went uncovered for years, Voss said, until Roberta did a DNA search on the website 23andme.com in the hopes of finding out about her family history.

“It was devastating when Roberta came to me with the news that her home DNA test showed that Dr. Greenberg was the biological father,” Bianca said at the media event.

“I am angry that I was violated in this manner. How could I have picked such a criminal and immoral physician who would do such an awful thing to me?” she said, adding that she wants Greenberg to be held accountable for what he allegedly did.

Roberta said that the worst part for her is when she first saw Greenberg’s face on her computer screen, she recognized herself.

“I see his face every time I look in the mirror,” Roberta said.

“I’m haunted by the idea of a medical rapist being my father and the enormous deceit that went into my conception,” she added.

Bianca is seeking damages to be determined at a jury trial, according to the suit.

Greenberg, who is in his 70s and now lives in Florida, did not respond to request for comment.
